East Bay Chinese School

East Bay Chinese School is proud to partner with Piedmont Language School(PLS) in offering in-person Mandarin classes. The PLS Early Mandarin class is for our youngest students (TK to 1st grade) who have little or no experience in Mandarin.

This class lays a fun foundation for learning at the higher levels. A textbook is not used at this level; the teacher teaches in themes primarily using simple crafts, rhymes, storytelling and games to engage students. Some of the themes explored in this class are Myself, My Family and My Friends. The idea is for students to get a feel for the language, and to immerse in the spoken language, without being conscious of the fact that they are learning. 

Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:20-4:20pm at Piedmont Middle School(classroom tbd). Instructional calendar will follow the Piedmont Unified School District calendar and it's noted holidays and non-instruction days. Semester 1: September 5th - December 21st. Semester 2: January 9th - May 16th.

No classes will be held the week of Thanksgiving(week of November 20th), Winter Break(weeks of December 25th and January 1st), President's Week(week of February 19th), and Spring Break(week of April 8th).
